I’ve now received further information from Jamie Smith at Hampshire Cricket regarding the Brian King Cup Softball Tournament. Please see the details below.
[i]Thank you for confirming your attendance at the U11 Girl's Softball Brian King Cup at Alton Cricket Club on Sunday 14th June 2026.
The group stages and semi-finals will run from 9.30am-1pm on the day with the final taking place as a longer format fixture later in the season.
Teams will be 8-a-side. The format will be standard pairs with 2 overs per pair. All players are required to bowl one over including the wicket keeper.
There are fourteen teams split into 2 x Groups of 3 and 2 x Groups of 4, each group assigned to one of the four pitches.
All teams will play a minimum of two matches with the group winners playing three.
The winners of each group will play semi-finals to decide the finalists of the Brian King Cup.
The first matches will need to start promptly at 9.30am to ensure a 1pm finish, so please arrive promptly for that start time if you are one of the eight teams drawn to play first. The other six teams will need to arrive in time for the second round of matches at 10.20am.
The full details of groups, match timings, and fixtures will be sent out next Thursday. Please ensure you let me know by next Wednesday if you are no longer able to field a team so that we can adjust the groups accordingly.
