Instructions

16 over game

Hey all, this Sunday (10th) we have our first Slam fixture vs Basingstoke, first ball is at 14:00, meet at 13:00. Vibha is in charge ?

There are some slightly funky rules in the slam… buckle up & please ALL read and familiarise yourself with them.

? 16 Overs
? Home team need to set up the fielding ring of WHITE marker disks, radii 20-25 meters from the centre stump of each end wicket.

Bowling:
‼️ Restricted players can only bowl after the 7th over (Izzy, Kate, Victoria, Harneet, Shreya, Vibs, Migi, Rosie & Alisha)

?Bowlers limited to 4 overs
? It’s not leg side wides ?
? In all BUT the last over a wide = 2 runs but NO extra delivery
? in the last over a wide or a no ball = 2 runs and you WILL have to re bowl up to a limit of 9 deliveries (legal or otherwise).
? The delivery following a no ball is a free hit. If you bowl a no ball on your last delivery, the free hit rolls into the next bowler’s over for their first ball. Remember you can only be run out (or by handling the ball / hitting the ball twice or obstructing the field)
? 6 deliveries, first half of the allotted overs shall be bowled from the same end then swap ends for the remaining half.

Fielding:
? in the event of a free hit the fielding team cannot ‘materially alter the set up of their field to that which was set up for the previous illegal delivery’. If the batter is of an alternate ‘handedness’ or should it represent the start of a new over then the field can be altered.

? Both teams to provide a new slam-provided 5.0oz Match ball for their fielding innings (first 4 games of the slam). Teams where possible should also have a spare.

? Throughout each innings the fielding team must have THREE (excluding WK & Bowler) within the fielding ring marked by the white disks. If we don’t the umpire must signal a no ball, free hit blah blah see above. This infringement can be called by either umpire. In the spirit of the game it is suggested the first offence should be a warning.

Batting Innings:
‼️Restricted batters can only bat no.4 onwards (Izzy, Sophie, Harneet, Vibs, Migi)

? Batters retire (not out) on 50, can return only after the last wicket is taken

? Batters swap ends at the end of the over (except the over the bowlers swap halfway)

?it is LAST batter stands, so all 8 wickets to end the game. The final batter remains batting with a runner. The last batter should run as normal and can only be run out at the end to which they are running.
If the last batter runs an odd number of runs then, after the ball is dead they should return to the strikers end without delay in preparation for the next delivery.

What could possibly go wrong ??
